Spring Fun

We had a play date at the park with Chelse and Mac. We've had a nice breeze lately so we attempted kite flying. The kids were way excited because they had just gotten new kites from their Grandma for Easter. Unfortunately the kites were kind of a bust...they don't have a very good "wing span" so they would go up a few feet then spiral down. It was cool to watch, but very frustrating for the kids. Chelse was able to get the Elmo one up relatively easy so they each got a turn to fly that one.

The girls attempting to fly their new fish kites
She ran and ran hoping to get it to go up, it never did.
This was about as high as we got them.
Then they would come crashing down_

Matthew had no interest in flying kites,
he played on the playground instead.

Chelse & Mac with the Elmo kite
Mac enjoyed being able to run around outside.
***Spring has been long awaited for all of us!
Alyssa praising Makayla for getting her kite that high!
Every once in a while we had to wait for a
good gust of wind to get the kites up

We did successfully get a kite stuck in a tree lol
Alyssa didn't find it as humorous as I did.
I've never actually had a kite get stuck in a tree
before, but I've heard of it happening :)

After the kids had enough with the kites we got the bubbles out. The little ones would have chased them all day, but Makayla got tired of blowing them after a while.

Easter Sunday

So normally I like to take the pictures of the kids in their Easter dress outside with spring flowers in the background, but since I have no flowers as of yet I had to take them inside.
They all turned out so cute that I had a hard time choosing which ones to post!

Easter Bunny treats

The eagerly anticipated visit from Easter Bunny came.
He filled the kids Easter baskets with lots of fun
treats and toys, then he hid them really well...
Makayla didn't think she would ever find her basket; she looked the house over top to bottom several times and couldn't find it. Then after she was told to pick up her dirty clothes, she found it hidden in her laundry basket! It was pretty funny.
Matthew's was hiding in the dryer, he didn't find it! His sisters, having already hunted for theirs, led him right to it!
Alyssa's was in the craft cupboard. Once she started checking cupboards, and after a few hints from Makayla, she found it no problem!

Matthew got a big lolly pop! He was pretty excited about that
And the Easter Bunny didn't forget his love of balls! He got a gigantic tennis ball :)

Kayla loves her new bunny webkins
Showing off her favs_

Lyss hugging her new, luved, lamb webkins.
She asked me what she should name it. I said "Mary",
but she didn't get it so she chose her own name, LOL
Showing off some more of her basket treats

Egg dyeing...

We dyed our eggs (and ourselves) Saturday afternoon.
The kids each dyed 6 eggs.
They had a lot of fun, and were very creative.
We had a lot of cute eggs when they were done :D

Lyss drawing on her egg before dyeing it-
Makayla the sponge artist-
Matthew was just having WAY too much fun with it all

Dyeing eggs is an intense process. It requires great concentration!

We had a few casualties...

Alyssa had a splatter painted face
Matthew dyed his hands purple! well several colors really, but purple was the most prominent :)

The finished Products- their favorite eggs!

The egg hunt!

We took the kids to the park for the neighborhood egg hunt.
It was freezing cold, but at least it didn't snow on us like the
forecast said it would!
The hunters-

The girls actually working together!!!!

Makayla had fun even though it wasn't much of a "hunt" for her, more of a gathering of eggs!

Alyssa had a lot of fun. She found most of her eggs on the play ground!

Matthew didn't quite understand what we were all talking about till we got there.
But he had so much fun gathering eggs he didn't want to stop even
when he had reached his egg limit!
