East Canyon Camp trip

This was our first camping trip of the season. We went over memorial day weekend and it rained almost the whole time!!! We still had a lot of fun, despite the cold and wet. We had never been up to this spot so it was a whole new experience for us. The kids had a lot of fun finding new things to do in the new camp site. And on the really rainy days we stayed in the trailer or went for a drive. It all worked out, and we had a lot of fun :)

Of course we brought enough fire wood to keep us warm and have hot cocoa and smores whenever possible!

Dad played a game of ball with the kids. There was lots of squeals and hollers! The girls were more scared of the ball, but it was funny to watch
Matthew fell asleep in the camping chair after the ball game,
it was too cute not to take a photo of_

Matthew thought the attached grill on the fire-pit was his own personal swing. No matter how many times we told him it WASN'T a swing!!!!
what do you mean I'm dirty mom?!?

Eh- I'm a boy, and I'm camping! I'm just gonna wear it proudly :D

The water came right up to the campsite so the kids passed some time by throwing rocks, originally they were trying to skip rocks, into the water.
But they found that throwing big rocks made a big splash! And that was much more fun to watch then how many times a little rock can skip across the water!!!
The water was MUCH TOO COLD for us! However, Abby kept going in for a dip she didn't mind the freezing water temperature.

The kids thought that the tent pad was their own personal sand box! Matthew got a kick outta that and Dad's portable camping shovel! He was in Heaven :)
